Kevin Emmerson (a former Placer who still think of himself as one!) is now working at Mount Ellis Academy, a state accredited high school in Montana. The academy is in serious contention for a $500,000 grant from the Kohl’s Cares campaign to replace the aging water and sewer infrastructure. Grant recipients are chosen by a Facebook vote with the top 20 schools in the country each receiving a half-million dollars. With voting due to end on September 3rd, 2010, Mount Ellis Academy is currently in 14th place in the nationwide contest. We invite Placers to get behind this if they're on Facebook and vote for Mount Ellis Academy 5 times at this link: http://apps.facebook.com/KohlsCares/ . Voters are also encouraged to “share” the link with their Facebook friend networks, encouraging them to vote and share as well.
